Banasan successfully concludes its participation in the 3rd Colombian Banana Congress 2025

During the inaugural day of the 3rd Colombian Banana Congress 2025, the International Banana Exporter Banasan was honored for its contribution to the development of agriculture in the Colombian Caribbean.

The president of ASBAMA, José Francisco Zúñiga, presented the award to the Chairman of Banasan’s Board, Álvaro Vives Lacotoure, highlighting the company’s commitment to business growth based on sustainability and positive social impact.

Since its founding in 2005, Banasan has established itself as one of the country’s most solid exporters, shipping 13 million boxes of bananas to markets in Europe and Asia. Its business model is characterized by building long-term relationships with small, medium, and large producers, prioritizing quality, traceability, and equity throughout the value chain.

Beyond its commercial activities, through the Banasan Foundation the company promotes social programs such as «Building Dreams», which over three years has benefited 312 families with improvements in housing and quality of life. This impact was recognized on-site by the Dutch Ambassador to Colombia, Reina Buijs, who highlighted:

“In Banasan’s work, the integration of excellent productive performance with recognition of the worker and their families is clearly demonstrated. Building Dreams serves as an example to replicate in different regions of the country and other economic sectors, because ultimately we are all workers with the potential to invest much more in the well-being of employees.”

Banasan and the Banasan Foundation concluded their participation in the congress successfully, leaving days of knowledge exchange, strengthening of alliances, and reaffirmation of their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community development.

Thanks to everyone who was part of this experience.
